In-Class:
1. We worked on using CER format for writing. We turned our Doritos commercial clues into a CER writing sample as a class.
* Mrs. Zvara gave feedback on how to improve the CLAIMS students wrote
* We practiced EVIDENCE
2. We went through the writing process with CER with two NON-SCIENCE Examples...
- My Dad is an Alien - claim & evidence
- What REALLY happened to Cheryl's She-Shed???
Assignment(s):
(3rd period) CER Practice At Home WKST - plant growth
(4th Period) CER for Cheryl's She-Shed - all you need to do is WRITE A GOOD QUALITY CLAIM & write down THREE pieces of evidence to support your claim. Remember, in a commercial, EVIDENCE is ONLY things you SEE or HEAR (observe using your senses). Feel free to watch the commercial multiple times if you need to.
